To Sweden, my affections cling.
    Fond memories I hold.
In thoughts I sail across the sea
To that fair land of old.
Its music echoes from the soil,
    Each forest, vale and knoll.
The fathom of its melodies
    Enrich my heart and soul.

I hear the ancient voices sound,
    And see their features clear,
And while their images reflect,
    I shed a shameless tear.
I love our dear ancestral halls
Of which I am a part.
Here is my hand, 0 Northern land,
    Fond homeland of my heart.
